Police Officer Job Application

Application Deadline: Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

Current Starting Salary: $56,000 with an increase after 12 months

Minimum Requirements:

• $45.00 non-refundable application fee
• U.S. Citizenship 
• No felony convictions
• Valid state-issued driver’s license 
• Minimum of 21 years of age AND shall be under the age of 35 by the application deadline date (8/30/2019) unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioners Act. 
• Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent 
• Possess a valid POWER test card dated within 12 months of the written exam
• Must successfully complete an oral interview
• Must successfully complete a background investigation (applicants will be required to fully disclose all personal matters, to include agreements and sealed files)
• Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation and medical physical (including drug and alcohol screening)

Required Documentation due by 2:00 p.m. (CST) on 8/30/19 (no faxes/emails accepted):

• Online Application – available after purchase
• Consent and Release Agreement (2 pages) – available after purchase
• Copy of high school diploma or GED
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record – can include: U.S. County/State issued birth certificate, U.S. Passport, or Naturalization papers
• Copy of valid POWER test card dated 9/21/2018 – 9/21/2019 (due at time of exam)
• Optional: College transcripts 
• Optional: Copy of DD-214 (long form)

Testing and Orientation Information:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on September 21, 2019. Testing will be held in Lyons, IL – Exact location will be released to eligible candidates.
