Firefighter/Paramedic Job Application
Application Deadline: June 12, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. CST
Annual Salary Range: $77,168 with 7 steps to $122,766
Minimum Requirements:
- $45.00 non-refundable application fee*
- U.S. Citizenship or person meeting the requirements of “citizenship status” (candidates born outside the U.S. must contact IOS Recruitment before the application deadline for details regarding this requirement)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HSE)
- Valid driver’s license
- 20 years of age as of the application deadline but 21 years of age at time of hire and less than 35 years of age at time final eligibility list is established, unless otherwise exempt
- Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb due at time of application deadline and must be also valid at time of appointment. Considered valid within one (1) year of the application deadline
- Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) EMT Basic or National Registry Paramedic certification at time of application deadline and IDPH EMT – Paramedic at time of conditional job offer

- Rolling Meadows Required Release Document (1 page) – available after purchase
- Copy of high school diploma or equivalent
- Copy of valid driver’s license
- Copy of birth record – can include: U.S. County/State issued birth certificate, U.S. Passport, Naturalization papers, or permanent resident card
- Copy of Valid CPAT and Ladder Climb Card(s) dated no earlier than June 12, 2024
- Copy of Valid IL IDPH EMT Basic or National Paramedic License or NREMT Paramedic Certificate
- If applicable copy of Military DD-214
Testing Information:
Candidates must attend the written examination on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Testing will take place at Rolling Meadows High School, 2901 Central Rd. Please plan to be available at any time on this date. Exact times and testing details will be provided at a later time.
