Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- No felony convictions
- No residency required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- 21 to under 35 years of age as of test date, June 8, 2024, unless otherwise exempt by IL State Statute
- Must provide a valid POWER test card dated on or after November 13, 2023 and must also be able to pass the POWER test upon entrance to the police academy

- Copy of high school diploma or GED
- Copy of valid driver’s license
- Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. – May include: U.S. county/state issued birth record, U.S. passport, naturalization papers, valid permanent resident card, or employment authorization card
- COPY of valid POWER test card. Must be dated November 13, 2023 – May 13, 2024

Orientation and Testing:
Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, June 8, 2024. You must arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in. Late arrivals will not be permitted. Additional details will be provided to eligible candidates approximately one week prior to the exam date.
Application Process Information:
Once you complete the online application, you will receive a confirmation number. You will also need to print and sign the required release form(s) and gather the required documentation listed above for submission to IOS Recruitment by 4:00 p.m. on 05/13/2024. Failure to complete any portion of the application process will eliminate you from further consideration.
