Police Officer Job Application
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be 20 years of age and not yet reached your 35th birthday as of November 13, 2025, or as otherwise exempt from the age limitation by State Statute. Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
- No residency required
- No felony convictions
- U.S. Citizenship or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Successful completion of POWER test with a licensed agency within one (1) year PRIOR to the written exam
Required documentation due November 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.:
- Confirmed online application – available after download
- Consent and release form (2 pages) – available after download
- Copy of high school diploma or GED
- Copy of valid driver’s license
- Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship or legal authorization to work in U.S.: can include: county/state-issued birth certificate, U.S. passport, naturalization papers, permanent resident card
- Copy of valid POWER test card (due at time of exam) – Must be dated 12/13/2024 – 12/13/2025
Orientation and Written Exam:
Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, December 13, 2025. A photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport) will be required to sign-in and you are responsible for bringing your own #2 pencil. The test will be held in Plano High School, 704 West Abe, Plano, Illinois. Additional details will be provided to eligible candidates approximately one week before the scheduled exam.

You will also need to print and sign the required release form(s) and gather the required documents listed above for submission to IOS Recruitment by the application deadline.
