Minimum Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship
No felony convictions
No residency required
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
21 to under 35 years of age as of test date, January 13, 2024, unless otherwise exempt by IL State Statute
Must provide a valid POWER test card dated on or after June 18, 2023 and must also be able to pass the POWER test upon entrance to the police academy

Copy of high school diploma or GED
Copy of valid driver’s license

COPY of valid POWER test card. Must be dated 06/18/2023 – 12/18/2023

Orientation and Testing:
Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, January 13, 2024. You must arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to sign-in. Late arrivals will not be permitted. Additional details will be provided to eligible candidates approximately one week prior to the exam date.

Application Process Information:
Once you complete the online application, you will receive a confirmation number. You will also need to print and sign the required release form(s) and gather the required documentation listed above for submission to IOS Recruitment by 4:00 p.m. on 12/18/2023. Failure to complete any portion of the application process will eliminate you from further consideration.
