Description

Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• No felony convictions
• Valid driver’s license 
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 21 to 35 years of age by date of hire unless otherwise exempt by statute
• CPAT and Ladder Climb verification by application deadline (valid if issued 04/20/2022 – 04/20/2023)
• OSFM Illinois Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate, required by date of hire
• IDPH Paramedic License, required by date of hire

Required Documentation due April 20, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. (must be mailed or hand delivered):

• Confirmed online application (available after purchase)
• Consent and release agreement- 2 pages (available after purchase)
• Copy of high school diploma/GED
• Copy of social security card
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship – U.S. County/State issued birth record, valid U.S. passport, or naturalization papers accepted
• Copy of CPAT and Ladder Climb certification – valid if issued between 04/20/2022 – 04/20/2023 
• Optional Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) Certification from the Office of the State Fire Marshall (Illinois)- required by date of hire
• Optional Valid Paramedic License from the Illinois Department of Public Health – (IDPH) required by date of hire
• If applicable, copy of Military Service Records (DDD214 Long Form) including discharge papers
• If applicable, copy of College and University degree

Testing Information:
Your exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered during the week of May 22nd during buisness hours – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.

In early to mid-May, you will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule and prepare for the exam. Please read through the instructions carefully before your exam date. Failure to follow the steps outlined may cause the electronic exam to not work properly, potentially resulting in your removal from the testing session.

Application Process Information:
When you complete the online application, you will receive a confirmation number. You will also need to print and sign the release form and gather the required documentation above for submission to IOS Recruitment by 04/20/2023 at 4:00 p.m.  No refunds are issued for incomplete or late applications.
