Long Grove, IL Firefighter Application

Description

Minimum Requirements:

• United States citizen
• Must be 18 years of age at the time of the exam and 21 years of age, and under 35 years of age at time of hire, or as otherwise exempt by statute
• High school diploma (or its equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license (must obtain a valid IL CDL or class B exempt license within 12 months of employment)
• Illinois Department of Public Health Licensed Paramedic in good standing, at the time of application deadline
• Color vision adequate to identify red, green, and yellow color. Visual acuity: 20/30 binocular each eye (corrected) with the ability to use a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus through a corrected lens face piece or contact lens. Peripheral vision of 140 degrees or better
• Valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) card and approved Ladder Climb Card required by time of hire

• Long Grove Application Addendum (1 page) – available after download
• Copy of high school diploma or GED
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship – may include county/state issued birth record, passport, or naturalization papers 
• Copy of valid IDPH Paramedic License
• Optional Copy of valid CPAT and ladder climb

Orientation and Testing Information:
Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Doors will open at 7:30 AM for sign in, please arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID).
