Firefighter Job Application

Application Deadline: Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Starting Salary: $56,942 plus longevity and education incentives 

Minimum Requirements:

• $25.00 non-refundable application fee
• U.S. Citizenship
• High school diploma (or its equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be 21 to under 35 years of age by time of hire, unless otherwise exempt by statute
• No felony convictions 
• Must live within the city limits within one year after hire
• Must posses a minimum of an IDPH or National Registered Emergency Medical Technician Basic level at time of application 
• Must be accepted by the Illinois Valley Community Hospital EMS system at time of hire
• Must hold a valid CPAT and ladder climb card at time of hire 

Required documentation due 3/12/2021 at 2:00 p.m.:

• Confirmed online application – available after purchase 
• Consent and release form (2 pages) – available after purchase 
• Copy of high school diploma (or equivalent) 
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship: can include: county/state-issued birth certificate, U.S. passport, naturalization papers
• Copy of valid IDPH or National Registered EMT Basic Certification 

Orientation and Testing Information:

Candidates must attend the mandatory orientation and written examination on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.  Eligible candidates must arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. Testing will be held at the LaSalle fire station, 1227 5th Street.
