Starting Salary Effective 1/1/2023: $77,537

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants for the examination shall be citizens of the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license. 
• Eligible applicants must be at least 20 years of age and have successfully completed two (2) years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university. Other applicants not having such must be 21 years of age. Applicants shall be under 35 years of age unless the applicant qualifies for an exemption as specified in Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 65, Section 5/10-1-7(j) of an Act entitled Civil Service in Cities.

Required Documentation due 6/23/2023 at 2:00 p.m.:

• Completed City of West Chicago Police Officer Application
• Exam Selection Form
• Copy of high school diploma or equivalent 
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship. May include: state/county issued birth certificate, passport, or naturalization papers
• Optional: EEO Form 
• Optional: Copy of official college transcripts 
• Optional: Copy of DD-214 long form 

Written Exam Information: 

Candidates must attend one of the following testing sessions:

1) Saturday, July 22, 2023. In-person testing will take place at 8:00 a.m. at West Chicago Community High School.

2) Virtual testing week of July 24th, 2023. Testing will take during business hours. Exact date and time of virtual sessions will be determined at a later time.
