Firefighter/Paramedic Job Application
Application deadline: January 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (CST)
Starting range: $75,367 – $111,088
**If employed by Brookfield FD, a candidate will be reimbursed for obligated expenses (training/equipment) incurred by previous department with proof of those costs.**
Minimum Requirements:
- $35 non-refundable application processing fee.
- United States citizen.
- Must be 21 years of age, and under 35 years of age at time of application, or as otherwise exempt by statute.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid paramedic certification (by time of hire).
- Valid CPAT and Approved Ladder Climb card(s) from a licensed agency by date of exam.
Required documentation due by application deadline:
- Confirmed online application (available after purchase)
- Consent and release form (2 pages) (available after purchase)
- Copy of high school diploma (or GED)
- Copy of valid driver’s license
- Copy of social security card
- Copy of birth record as proof of citizenship: can include: county/state-issued birth certificate, U.S. passport, naturalization papers, permanent resident card
- Copy of valid CPAT and ladder climb dated no earlier than February 24, 2024 (due by date of written exam)
- Copy of valid paramedic license (if applicable)
Mandatory Virtual Written Exam:
Your exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered during business hours within the week of February 24th – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.
Mandatory Oral Interview:
Candidates achieving a passing score on the written exam will be invited to the oral interview scheduled for March 19, 2025. No alternative dates will be offered.

When you have completed the online application you will receive a confirmation number. You will also need to print and sign the required release form(s) and gather required documents listed above for submission to IOS Recruitment by 4:00 p.m. (CST) on 1/28/25.
