Minimum Requirements:

• $40.00 non-refundable application fee
• High school diploma or GED
• 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited institution at time of hire, some military can be submitted for college credits based on years of service – official transcripts must be submitted by the application deadline and reflect that the applicant is at least on track to earn 60 credit hours in the near future
• 21 years of age, and no more than 35 years of age by February 10, 2023 (unless otherwise exempt by Illinois State Statute)
• U.S. citizenship 
• Valid driver’s license 
• Applicants must submit proof of passing the POWER Test at the written exam date (March 11th, 2023). Only certifications after August 1st, 2022, will be accepted.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes
• Pass comprehensive pre-employment screening process to include background investigation, polygraph, psychological and medical examination with drug testing
• Must reside within a 30-mile radius within 18 months of appointment

• Online Application – available after purchase
• Consent and Release Agreement (2 pages) – available after purchase
• Copy of high school diploma or equivalent 
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of birth record – can include: U.S. County/State issued birth certificate, U.S. Passport, or Naturalization papers
• Copy of valid POWER test card dated 8/1/2022 – 3/11/2023 (due at time of exam)
• Copy of official college/university transcripts (due at time of application) OR Copy of Associates or Bachelor’s degree diploma – Official Transcripts must indicate attainment of at least 60 completed college credit by date of hire

Testing Information:
Candidates must attend the mandatory written exam on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Doors will open for sign-in at 7:00 a.m., please arrive no later than 8:00 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) and #2 pencil to sign-in. There will be no late admittance.

Application Process Information:

You will also need to print and sign the required release form and gather required documentation (listed above) for submission to IOS Recruitment by 2:00 p.m. (CST) on 2/10/2023.  Failure to complete any portion of the application process will eliminate you for further consideration.  No refunds are issued for incomplete or late applications.
