Addison – Elmhurst Fire Testing Consortium 
Firefighter Job Application
Application Deadline: April 20, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.

Addison Starting Salary: including paramedic pay is at $72,269.40 up to $73,569.40 depending on education. After 5 years goes up to $106,519.53

Elmhurst Starting Salary: for full-time firefighters effective January 1, 2022 is $77,287 per year increasing to $103,934 after six years

Addison Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship 
• Valid driver’s license 
• High school diploma (or GED)
• 21 to 35 years of age at date of hire unless otherwise exempt by statute 
• Illinois Department of Public Health Paramedic License at time of hire
• CPAT and Ladder Climb verification at time of hire 

Elmhurst Minimum Requirements: 

• U.S. Citizenship 
• Valid driver’s license 
• High school diploma (or GED)
• 21 to 35 years of age at date of application unless otherwise exempt by statute 
• Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-Basic License at time of hire
• Illinois Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate at time of hire 
• CPAT and Ladder Climb verification at time of hire

• Copy of high school diploma/GED
• Copy of valid driver’s license
• Copy of Birth Record as proof of citizenship: may include county/state issued birth record, US passport or Naturalization Papers 

Orientation and Testing Information: 
Candidates must attend a virtual testing session the week of May 30th which will be held during business hours. Additional details will be provided to eligible candidates.
